One of President Trump’s best judicial nominees has been blocked by indignant Democrats because of columns he wrote while a Stanford student 25 years ago.  Yes: Stanford … as an undergraduate.

In one of these pieces Ryan Bounds argued that ethnic identity groups promote campus divisions, and in another he demanded proof “beyond a reasonable doubt” before expelling young men accused of sexual assault.  These are arguable but mainstream  opinions, expressed by a teenager, that have now been used to wreck the hopes of a Yale Law graduate and a respected federal prosecutor.

Unfortunately, the fine Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina declined to support the Bounds nomination, giving the united Democrats the chance to keep him off the bench. If Republicans gain a few Senate seats in November, I hope President Trump will try again to win confirmation for the eminently deserving Ryan Bounds.

Expelling for he said she said in accusations of sexual assault? No.

Not expelling because the threshold of beyond a reasonable doubt not being met? No.

Expelling because of meeting a threshold of preponderance of evidence? = ding ding ding

Guys clearly a clown, not a surprise he is liked by conservatives.

As for ethnic identity groups increasing divisions, that is probably true, I know it triggers the far right white nationalist types, bbut bbut THEY get to have all x/y/z racial groups, why can't we have out all white group! The one time people on the right give a damn about equality, it's to prop up some fel standard. But anyway, the guy sounds like an A-hold and irritating to liberals. I'm sure conservatives will keep fighting to get this guy on the bench to terrorize liberal sensibilities for decades to come.

      Ty,

Over the course of the last few months you have gone from someone who occasionally has a point or something interesting to say to just another hate filled deranged Trump/Conservative hater. Said. While you rail against right wing "spittle" and "feces throwing" you may want to grab a towel and wipe off your own keyboard once in a while and take a look in the mirror you rude idiot. Debating you has become pointless due to your own anger fueled fog. BTW the Right Nationalist rhetoric is pathetic and you know it, that argument is juvenile and no longer works.

        sorry, meant "sad" not "said".

    Ty
You live in a human-shit covered city, who’s biggest concern is the banning of plastic straws.
“Liberal sensibilities”? You gotta love it!

Virtually all big cities are liberal cities, and they are the single most dynamic and prosperous economic engines in the nation.

You are welcome, conservative, for rising and being warmed by the blanket of prosperity liberals provide, while still questioning the manner in which we provide it.

Colonel Nathan Jessup you are NOT.
The fact is liberal cities are consistently listed as the worst places to live and examples of the worst run municipalities in America.
But, like most leftists, Ty, YOU can’t handle the truth.

"I'm sure conservatives will keep fighting to get this guy on the bench to terrorize liberal sensibilities for decades to come."

But of course! That's how us far-right types have us some funz!

I keep saying that the problem the Left has is that they used the courts to circumvent the will of the people and are now deathly afraid that the Right will do the same. Even if the courts go back to doing what they are supposed to be doing, it hurts the Left because they cannot get their agenda thru the legislative process. I find it ironic that the Left has Academia, the Media, and Hollywood and has used all three to do the very things they accuse the Right of doing or will do. Terror, Intolerance, Racism, Sexism, Bigotry, Harassment, Bullying, Segregation, these are the tools the Left uses to shut down alternative thought and speech. Yet, they hide behind "freedom of speech" when challenged.

They do not get it. Trump is the by product of their political correctness. He says the things many Americans think and does what many wish their politicians would do. Bounds' opinion of identity politics is one shared by the majority and then some (if 70% of the population is White). I am not White, yet I wonder how we can ever have racial equality if Blacks and minorities are given preferential treatment. Americans have known personally or thru the news of people being falsely accused of sexual assault and many also want the same standard the courts set for putting someone in jail: beyond reasonable doubt.

In other words, Bounds sounds like a reasonable, NORMAL human being. Where is it written that anyone in power must be a saint–and a "saint" according to Liberal idea of sainthood?

Honestly, it has gotten to the point where Liberals act like they are the only people that should have any rights. Instead of being afraid of losing their tool of judicial activists, they should fear the Right who are tired of all this BS and will push back.

      Amen Nani!
