Recently, figures from Washington seemed to indicate some remarkably good news: with the increase in life expectancy, Social Security now handles 6.5 million Americans who are 112 years old or older! This is absolutely amazing, since more accurate numbers show only 42 individuals in the entire world who are actually that old! The truth is Social Security now provides active numbers – and sometimes benefits – for millions who passed away many years ago. This helps explain why federal agencies just admitted making $125 billion in overall improper payments in 2014 – a staggering total amounting to more than $10,000 per American family. In fact, under the Obama administration these improper payments have soared, reaching their all-time record last year. Taxpayers have a right to feel indignant when they’re paying big money to those who’ve been dead for decades
