Liberals exaggerate the power of money, believing that wealth in the wrong hands is the source of all evil, while shifting it to the right hands can solve every problem.

In education, they demand constant funding increases—though the most free-spending district in the country gets worse results than any state. Washington, D.C. schools spend $29,000 per student, but 83% lack reading proficiency in 8th grade—worse results than impoverished Mississippi.

Liberals also fret that money can buy elections, despite frequent failure by lavishly funded candidates like Meg Whitman, who lost $144 million of her own cash in her 2010 campaign for California governor. Some 80 percent of Congressional or Senate candidates who spent more than a million on their own campaigns lost their races, proving money can’t buy victory, educational improvements or, for that matter, happiness.
