Conservative Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico seems to be cruising to victory in her race for a second term, and if she wins the expected landslide she should consider a race for the presidency.

As a veteran prosecutor with an admirable tough-on-crime record, and as the wife and daughter of law enforcement professionals, she would provide a refreshing alternative to the scandal-plagued, morally-compromised Obama administration.

During her four years in office, polls showed her approval ratings consistently topping 60 percent, making her one of the nation’s most popular governors. A Martinez candidacy could attract attention from Latino voters normally uninterested in the Republican Party. Even more importantly, she would give the GOP a credible, down-to-earth female candidate in a year when Hillary Clinton will capture adoring media attention. Even if she’s not nominated for president or vice president in 2016, a race for high office would bring needed new energy to the GOP.

“Even if she is not nominated?” The chance of that is zero, not almost zero, absolute zero!

Combined with Gov. Scott Walker or Gov. Bobby Jundal what a powerful one two punch. Republicans have excellent choices to serve as the next American President.

The Republican Party needs to go back to its Wisconsin Roots (since the party began in Ripon, Wisconsin to stop slavery) and elect Scott Walker to bring the GOP back to where it belongs again.

I pray, please, Oh Lord, please let Republicans use their brains this time! Yes, yes, yes Governor Martinez would be a godsend Republican candidate for president. I heard her speech at the last convention, and it was brilliant. She said, she and her husband were Democrats, but then humored a Republican friend by listening to his pitch. After hearing him talk about their core values and principles she and her husband looked at each other and said, we’re Republicans! The Democrats can only win elections now by despicable appeals to racial hostility, gender divisions, and class envy. And they are doing it again now using contrived incidents along the border and in Ferguson, MO. Picking a Hispanic lady as a standard bearer would totally torpedo their racial and sex demagoguery. Could you just imagine her debating Billary or Pocahontas Warren? Susana lifted herself up by her own bootstraps, while Hillary rose only by swallowing her pride for years by tolerating a pig of a husband, and Warren by making that ridiculously shallow claim of being a native American to get ahead. But Republicans have always been out smarted by Democrats politically. I think this is why I see Chris Matthews pushing the narrative that Mitt Romney, a rich white guy, is going to run again
