Political Exploitation Runs Into Reality

A Boston Marathon bombing survivor visits the scene of the first bomb explosion on Boylston Street in Boston

Strident partisans have launched shameful attempts to exploit the Boston bombings for political purposes. Democratic gun control advocates say this bloody rampage argues for less access to firearms, but the weapons the terrorists used are highly regulated in Massachusetts and in some cases already illegal.

Unfortunately, murderous fanatics determined to slaughter innocents pay scant attention to gun rules, no matter how sweeping. Simultaneously, some Republicans cite the tragedy as reason to block immigration reform – never mind that both brothers came to the U.S. legally under the current broken system that reformers hope to fix. Why should these two deeply alienated Islamic fanatics get legal status before hard-working, undocumented arrivals from Latin America, now eager to pay fines and pass background checks in order to join the American mainstream.

The Boston case teaches lessons on terrorism, but says little about guns or immigration.

The problem here is two-fold: immigration and gun control.

Massive illegal and legal immigration has brought a lot of crime with it and drive up welfare to the point that the non-partisan Congressional Research Service is reporting that more than $1.03 trillion a year is now spent on welfare with more than $800 billion of it coming directly from the federal government.

This doesn’t include entitlement programs like social security, medicare, veteran’s programs, etc…

That’s a lot of welfare! And CIS reports that only 88k jobs were created last month and that 67% of them went to foreign born immigrants completely bypassing U.S. citizens and that most were so low paying that they simultaneously qualifed for more in social services than they paid in taxes!

The unemployment rate is low simply because the labor participation rate of U.S. citizens has grown so large due to a lack of jobs!

And they have brought their gangs, cartels, and penchant for criminality with them. We raise them on welfare and they victimize us as young people and adults. It’s crazy!

Disarming the law abiding citizenry greatly exacerbates the situation. They did it in Mexico and gun homocides have soared. Interestingly, only 17% of guns found at the scene are made in the U.S.. Most of the guns illegally armed criminals like to use in Mexico are fully automatic pistols and rifles made in China, Russia, Israel, the Eastern Bloc, and Central America. The citizens of Mexico are defenseless and unable to do anything about it. That’s what is going to happen here if the Democrats have their way. The gangs, cartels, and criminals will be heavily armed and we will be ill-armed.

“Why should these two deeply alienated Islamic fanatics get legal status before hard-working, undocumented arrivals from Latin America, now eager to pay fines and pass background checks in order to join the American mainstream.” Eager to pay fines and pass background checks? Medved must have some of that good Seattle weed!

Firstly, those two were merely patsies set up by the FBI. And at least they didn’t come here to rape our country’s resources like the Aztecs do. And even if they are guilty, so what? Who kills more? Illegal Aztecs kill 25 Americans every day!
