Taxpayers Fund a Murderer’s “Completeness”

In an outrageous abuse of the legal system, a convicted murderer serving a life sentence in California, has successfully sued the state to get “gender reassignment surgery” costing close to $100,000.

Shiloh Heavenly Quine was convicted for his role in brutal 1980 crime spree that included kidnapping, robbery, and first degree murder. The 57-year-old inmate insisted that the radical surgical procedure would give him “a drastic, internal completeness” to relieve his suicidal depression.

Even for those who defend the dubious value of the medically sanctioned mutilation known as “sex change” operations, the idea that taxpayers must provide such procedures to maximize prisoner happiness is ridiculous. What other expensive, elective surgeries should public funds be forced to provide? If we’re obligated to fund such treatment for imprisoned murderers, can we do any less for law-abiding citizens? Americans should hope that the new Trump administration makes judicial appointments to the federal bench that prevent such idiocy in the future.

This is what Criminals and Politicians do.
    Get over it.
    Quit electing criminals
and quit letting the other kind off on technicalities.

This really makes me sick and sad……..this money could be used to prepare inmates for re-entry into the workworld. I would really like to read the court's written decision on this one. The eighth amendment prohibits cruel and unusual punishment; it does not guarantee "treatment" for every complaint, however loud or constant. I'm sure one of this guy's fellow inmates would be happy to do the surgery for free.

Another example of California insanity. Perhaps this should be extended to allow male (biologically) inmates that identify as women to serve their time in a woman's prison? Or a woman who identifies as a man to serve her time in a men's prison. That would make for some interesting dynamics. Would also be consistent with recent rulings on bathroom use. Not that those inmates would lie about their gender identity… or would they!

Where is our boy Ty now? This is the state that he wants to decide for us all, who our president is.
Ludicrous… These morons should leave the union. Buh-bye.
