The GOP’s “Youth Problem” Is Really a Race Problem

email Email

Republican soul-searching about what went wrong in the 2012 election often focuses on the youth vote, suggesting that Democrats will continue to win among young voters unless conservatives abandon their traditional positions on social issues.

But this argument ignores the fact that among the big majority of voters 29 and younger who identified as white, Romney won decisively—by a comfortable margin of 7 points. Romney still lost badly among young voters overall because non-white voters comprised 39 percent of the youth vote, compared to 28 percent of the electorate at large. In other words, the core Republican problem isn’t with young voters, it’s with those classified as non-white voters, young, old and middle-aged.

Until Republicans can make progress attracting more support among Latinos, Asians and blacks, they will continue to lose young voters—as well as nationwide elections.

It isn’t as much a “race-problem” as it is an ideology-problem. Mos of young voters are college students or recently graduated; consequently, coming “warm from the oven” of leftist indoctrination that academia have converted college education into.

But the real problem is not even that; the true problem is that the Republicans –non creative as usually they are– have fettered themselves to the tired paradigm of the “conventional” voter population to attempt to proselytize converts –i.e., disgruntled Democrats and centrists (the latter, vacillators by nature but keeping in the close neighborhood of the ideological center, erroneously referred to as “independents”, for independent only means not being affiliated to or registered with any political party; it does not mean ideological centrism), and, now, blacks and Hispanics).

The Republicans are playing a tired, worn-off deck of card; the future of the Republican Party and any non-leftist party resides in the more than 80 million non-leftist American of voting age that didn’t vote in the 2008 presidential election, population that grew in 2012 to more than 90 million.

Why the assertion that they are non-leftists?

Simply because the entire Left voted in masse and in both presidential elections, and vote for Obama, for Obama epitomized the embodiment of the perfect candidate of the hardcore-Left –or anti-democratic Left, and which encompasses from fascists to social democrats to democratic socialists to Marxists to Marxist-Leninists to communistic-anarchists– and which, although a minuscule sector of the voting population and of the American population at large, is the sector that drives the entire Left in America, including the “soft” Left or democratic Left, that is, “bleeding-heart” liberals and doctrinaire-Keynesians, two sector that Lenin referred to as, and whom even now, at these times, the hardcore-Left deems, “useful-idiots”.

Since almost absolutely every single Leftist voted in the two presidential elections and voted for Obama, by simple and logical inference, the vast majority, if not all, of those 80 or 90 million must be non-leftists.

That’s the deck of cards that the Republican Party should play, abandoning the self-defeating exercise of practicing tug of war, haggling with the Left over the vote of disgruntled Democrats, centrists, blacks, Hispanics and Jews, for, at the end of the day, the vast majority of them end up voting Democrat.

But the Republicans will never do what is needed: It’s a work to be done on a one-on-one, face-to-face basis by highly motivated non-leftists, i.e., outright activists or highly concerned individuals bordering on activists. Republicans shun the term “activist”, having abandoned it to the Left, as “gays” has been abandoned to homosexuals and so forth.

It is work that only grassroots-conservatives will fierily do, with all they got; they will go out bringing full awareness about the grave situation that the Left (i.e., the Democrat Party) with the complicit RINOs and the accommodationist establishment-Republicans –on a one-on-one, face-to-face basis– to relatives, friends, coworkers, church-fellows, neighbors, sports and hobby teammates, acquaintances –and even to strangers they stumble on during daily life activities– that may be among those 80 or 90 million.

No time should be wasted on disgruntled Democrats, centrists, blacks, Hispanics and Jews.

I saw interview after interview of non-white voters that couldn’t answer a single political question correctly and just voted for Obama because he was non-white and they thought they could get more money and amnesty out of him than “the other guy.”

So if the GOP becomes the Democrats, then the country is lost.
