White House “Diaper Agenda” Exposes Liberal Lunacy

Stack of diapers isolated on white background

With much fanfare, the White House announced a new “diaper agenda” complete with a speech by the president and a demand for $10 million in taxpayer funds. The new program means to address the newly discovered “diaper divide” in which “nearly 1 in 3 families reportedly struggle to afford diapers for their babies.” Presidential aide Cecilia Munoz lamented the fact “that there is no federal assistance for purchasing diapers, unlike other essentials like food or health insurance.”

This is the height of liberal lunacy. Diapers, bought in bulk, are cheaper than ever and if local governments and private groups want to provide help for hard-pressed families, that’s a beautiful thing. But the fact that the White House wants to get directly involved, demonstrates the depths of liberal lunacy. When Margaret Thatcher railed against the “nanny state” even she couldn’t have anticipated a program in which the president himself wanted to supervise the care and cleaning of babies’ behinds.

Is this for real or is this The Onion? Unable to afford diapers 30 years ago, I bought and washed CLOTH diapers. It was a chore but we had no extra money. Yes, I lugged dirty diapers to the laundrymat and dropped quarters in the machines. It never occurred to ANYONE that the government should buy diapers for our children and I never wasted any time feeling sorry for myself. We were proud to care for our family, even if we struggled some times. It's no wonder dads think it's ok to walk out on their kids and moms abandon them for grandparents to raise–after all, Obama is there to feed, clothe, and diaper them…

I so agree with Audrey! We were proud to care for our own family. We had children because we wanted them. And washed our own cloth diapers! Then because we couldn't afford pre-school, we formed neighborhood pre-school in our basements, so kids could play and learn 'taught' by us moms.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers offer free diapers & baby supplies. Why don't any candidates talk about the good work they do?!?

I raised 3 kids. At the time they were born, we all used cloth diapers. they were washed and dried on a clothes line. The environment was not screwed up with plastic and paper going into the landfills as they are today. How can the president who is soooo concerned about the environment want to contribute to it. Write a law to prohibit the use of disposable diapers.

The liberals should actually ban these "plastic" bag diapers! Have they no shame? These are eventually ending (pun intended) up in our precious landfills and maybe going into the ocean where baby whales, seagulls, etc. will be destroyed and cause even more global warming. 🙂

A liberal politician has much in common with a dirty diaper because they are both full of the same substance but you can easily throw away the diaper.

Mack, that's the best comment yet!

We had 7 children and all wore cloth diapers. My husband used to say he wished he had a dollar for every diaper he folded. We worked together on this chore. Now the landfills are full of this garbage called disposable diapers.

E Rey day this P O S prez. Comes up with something new to saddle us with. He can use some of the money left over from the dept. of education that is no use to anyone and buy some diapers.

  8. Nani  •  Mar 18, 2016 at 5:47 pm

And thanks to the Trumpers, we will have 4 MORE years of this lunacy. Thanks "real" conservatives; you really showed us all!

    • Rizzo  •  Mar 18, 2016 at 10:36 pm

      Nani
Thanks to people like you, we will have Hilary, because whiney-ass RINOS won't support our candidate.
      Pathetic!

  9. Nani  •  Mar 18, 2016 at 5:52 pm

And when Hillary is elected and she comes up with more Liberal lunacy, I do NOT want to hear a word from anyone who supported a bully that they KNEW would lose the WH for Republicans. Not one word. Take that middle finger you pointed at the GOP and stick it in your mouth to remind yourself to keep it shut! Geez.

    • Rizzo  •  Mar 18, 2016 at 11:58 pm

      Nani…. You whiney sore loser.
Support our nominee, or beat it…. We don't want ya.

  10. Annabel  •  Mar 18, 2016 at 9:52 pm

If you can't afford the diapers you can't afford the kids.

    • Ann  •  Mar 21, 2016 at 5:22 pm

      Agree!!
What the hell are people doing having babies they can't afford?!
We used cloth diapers for our 4 children. Washed and dried them ourselves. Didn't contribute to the carbon footprint.

Another plus: if you use cloth diapers, your children WILL be potty trained by 24 months. Unbelievable how many 3 and 4 years olds are in disposable diapers.

  11. Annabel  •  Mar 18, 2016 at 9:53 pm

Anyone who cannot afford the diapers cannot afford the children. That is NOT our fault!

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing with us why we should not support Trump. So few Conservatives pundits have the guts to NOT support Trump. This man is a belligerent bully. As a retired teacher I abhor his behavior. Continue to share with specifics why Trump is not our candidate.

    • Rizzo  •  Mar 19, 2016 at 12:01 am

Support our nominee or we get Hilary.
No true Republican could ever believe or be convinced that Hilary is better for America than Trump.

  13. Franco  •  Mar 19, 2016 at 10:40 am

Nani has a "Purity Test". She demands her candidate, the only "Pure" Republican, or she cries and goes home.
Face it Nani, you candidates have NO APPEAL. They can barely even win their home state.

  14. Max  •  Mar 20, 2016 at 2:22 am

How do I get a copy of the montage of great Presidents sound clips and then Obama doubling down on diapers?
It was played during the show and people are asking to hear the clip.

  15. Duwaine Joiner  •  Mar 28, 2016 at 2:58 pm

Gosh, all you folks commenting should be so proud of yourself! Such intelligence! Such backbone! How smart and strong all of you are!

And yet you wonder why we are left with Trump and Cruz on the GOP side. Ladies and Gentlemen, look in the mirror!

    • Victor  •  Mar 29, 2016 at 8:55 am

Well said Mr Joiner. What gets me is that I hear a lot of Trump supporters on the news..who are baby boomers or even older.. bragging about voting for the FIRST TIME because of Donald Trump.. Like the Pied Piper "The Donald" and the ego tripping fairy tales he spins (like the wall and making the Mexicans pay for it) are like soothing music to a baby..Just what they want to hear..

Donald Trump is the best thing that ever happened for liberals like Hillary and Bernie..Thanks to Johnnie-come-lately..Trumpets !

    • Rizzo  •  Apr 13, 2016 at 9:54 am

Ok Duwaine…. If you are a conservative, or even a RINO, I would suggest you take a heavy dose of your own advice. If not Trump or Cruz, who would you handpick for us?
