Thanks for the update! It was reassuring to hear Michael’s voice and I am glad he is recovering. I certainly miss hearing him and look forward to his return. I have met him personally twice, once on a boat ride from Catalina to Long Beach and again at the Memorial Day event at the USS Iowa last year. As such, I feel like I know him almost as a personal friend.
Prayers and best wishes to Michael!

Michael, sooo good to hear of your progress, praise God, from Whom all blessings surely flow. Please take all the time you need to recover your voice to your fullest potential but keep writing! I say to you what Mordecai said to Queen Esther in Esther 4:14, “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Yes, we need your wisdom and insight to shine the light of truth on the issues that face us but I have no doubt that you have been appointed for such a time as this. Shalom, my friend. Shalom, indeed. (and a hug from this USMC mom)

Miss you and your amazing show in this greatest nation on God’s green earth!! May God Bless You and your family during this difficult road to recovery. SINCERELY, KATIE

  2. Debbie Ramos  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 3:34 pm

So glad to hear your recovery is progressing. We have really missed you even though you had interesting substitutes – it’s just not the same without you!
    Anxiously waiting,
    One of your fans

  3. David walker  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 4:00 pm

I hope you get well soon.

Your 12 to 2 replacement has been great, not so much for the third hour. I always turn him off as he is incrediblely boring.

  4. "Mary" Griffin  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 5:56 pm

So pleased to hear your voice live on the air today, Michael, and to hear of your progress. I too met you a few years ago and listen to your program every day. My favorite of your fill-in hosts has been Mark Davis and I have really enjoyed listening to him when you have been away. May God bless you!

  5. Donald  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 6:15 pm

Michael. You sound great! Much better than I expected.

    • Danny McKnight  •  Apr 13, 2015 at 1:52 am

May you soon return to work with restored health and joy in your heart.

Like like like like like! Can’t wait till you are back!

  8. tony uminski  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 6:41 pm

Michael, miss listening to you on my way home from teaching high school. You have a way to put things in perspective that sets my mind at ease. I must have been the only person to miss the memo about your health. May God continue to bless you and your family as you recover. Looking forward to the day you’re back. Blessings from Texas — and as you know, since everything is bigger in Texas, that’s a BIG BLESSING!

  9. Michael Muldawer  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 7:00 pm

So great hearing your voice again, even if not yet fully normal. Your replacements have been fine but there is only one Michael Medved and we await eagerly your return. Keep up with your rapid recovery. Hoping to hear you on air quite soon.

  10. INGRID Maynes  •  Apr 9, 2015 at 7:17 pm

I knew the moment I read your email to your radio family that you would be fine. We have all prayed and I believe God heard. In 2009 I had a double masectomy (9 surgeries including 3 lumpecties, infection which added 2, and several for reconstruction). My treatment was not physically debillitating like yours was, but my anxiety would have been off the charts without my family and friends which included my most loving parents, husband, son, sisters and brothers. What must be mentioned for what I felt was a humbling experience is the dedication of the great and modest medical professionals we have in our country. After hearing you today, you sound
incredible and I expect you back in the saddle any day.
    Vaya con Dios!

Hi Michael. Thank God that you are progressing so well. Although I listen to you a lot I have never spoken to you but did see you in person at the Puyallup Fair back in the mid 90s.

Just one of many faces in the crowd but I do remember you Michael.

Cant wait to hear you on the radio soon!

  22. Blaine, M  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 3:17 pm

My God I miss hearing your logic and amazing debating skills & honest reasoning to our current problems in this country and the world. You are truly a breath of common sense and a gift to the airwaves. Thanks for the update, cuz everyday I tune in hoping that you are back.

  29. Jim Broyles  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 5:16 pm

It was very encouraging to hear your voice. Praise God that you are well on your way to full recovery and that your treatments have been successful thus far. As one who is learning to enunciate because of dental procedures, I sympathize with how you perceive your own voice sounding “off” but as others tell me, they fully understand me and I don’t sound as bad to them as I do to myself; so I tell you, you do not sound as bad to us as you may to yourself. Hang in there.

  30. Zac King  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 5:23 pm

  32. Ken Pirtle  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 5:37 pm

Michael, its great to hear your voice and your medical update. You sound terrific, maybe not the same as before but its obvious that you are on your way back. You are indeed an intellectually conservative treasure that this country needs desperately in this moment of political crisis. Get well soon, your wisdom is missed and I look forward to your return. Meanwhile prayers for you, your doctors and your family.

  33. Betty Irvin  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 5:48 pm

    Hi Michael,
So great to hear your voice. I think we are a selfish bunch. We don’t care what you sound like, we just want to hear you. Keep on recuperating, I’ll keep praying and know you are much loved.

  36. Kevin  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 6:56 pm

    Be well, my friend.

I wish your swift and healthy return.

What JOY! Oh, Michael, thank you so very much for posting this audio update of your health. How wonderful it is to hear your voice and the strength in your speech. Praise God. The power of prayer speaks volumes.
    You have been missed friend.
Continue to follow your doctors orders so we may have you back behind the microphone asap. Your wisdom, intellect and common sense is needed more than ever.

  40. Marisa Shepard  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 9:00 pm

Michael, it’s so good to hear from you! You will continue to be in my prayers and those of my family as well. I’ve listened to your show since college (2001) and you are my favorite! I am so looking forward to your return in time for primary season. Your wisdom and life lessons have helped make me into the person I am today. I can’t even put how much your show means to me into words. God bless you!

  41. Angela  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 9:47 pm

Thank you so much for the update! I have been faithfully listening…your guest hosts are doing a wonderful job. My father in law had the same cancer so I have an idea of what you are going through. He’s doing fabulous now, three years later. But it was a tough recovery…food didn’t taste quite right for a long time. BEST WISHES and prayers to you and your family.

  42. Darcie  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 10:01 pm

Michael, thank you for the update. You don’t realize how someone you hear on the radio truly becomes part of your life.
Wonderful to hear about your recovery! Hope to see you back in Hawaii soon.
    A hui hou!

  43. Brent in Atlanta  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 10:30 pm

Michael, I’m one of your agnostic listeners, and I’m so glad to hear that you’re recovering! You’ve been my favorite radio host for over 10 years. Your winning attitude and kindness to alternative views are refreshing and endearing. Even though I don’t believe in God, I just did something that I haven’t done in a very long time: I prayed. I prayed for you and your continuing recovery. Thank you for your wonderful broadcasts and spot-on movie reviews!

  44. Rhonda Abrams  •  Apr 10, 2015 at 11:53 pm

It’s so nice to hear your voice! You are in my prayers and I miss hearing your thoughts on current world events. I fainted in July of last year, my heat stopped 5 times, once for 28 seconds and I’m now sporting a pacemaker at 49 years old. (Absolutely no history of heart or health problems ever). I believe life is about your attitude and being grateful to God, family, friends and giving back in some way. On your first day back live, I will be one of the many listeners crying with joy! Take care as long as you have to!

  45. Brenda Gruen  •  Apr 11, 2015 at 12:14 am

BH to your positive recovery. Sending much love. The Gruen Family.

  48. Dave G  •  Apr 11, 2015 at 1:25 am

So happy to hear your voice again. I truly feel as if one of my close friends has been absent. I was deeply saddened with your news you shared this year. Michael, you truly touch thousands of lives. You inspire deeper thought, and always bring joy to my drive. You have been greatly missed and I am sure the Great Lord has plans to fully heal you, guide and bless your physicians providing you care, and bring you back better than ever. Your friends from all over this greatest nation on God’s green earth are praying for you and your family!

  49. Renee  •  Apr 11, 2015 at 1:47 am

So glad to hear your voice. I have missed you so much. You have been a part of my life for awhile now. I admire your insight and input on the happenings of today, but now its time for you to take good care of yourself. I truly hate cancer. That is a beast of a disease and yet there are many who beat it. I pray you are one of them. So far so good!! You have a lot of work to do to change minds and hearts into thinking human beings through reason and information. I look forward to hearing your voice on the radio in the near future. God Bless you Michael!

  50. Kathy  •  Apr 11, 2015 at 2:10 am

Glad to hear your voice and the update. Wishing you all the best. Long time Medhead member-miss so much hearing you everyday. Get well and return to your show. Thanks to those who have filled in for you.

  55. Gene  •  Apr 11, 2015 at 5:03 pm

Its great to hear you are recovering and plan to be back as soon as you can. My wife and I really enjoy your historical reviews here in Alaska and appreciate the great amount of research you must do to make such programs. Being in a recovery stage is not very enjoyable to put it mildly. Best of luck to you and hope to hear you soon .

You sound great! It brought me a lot of joy to hear this message. I cannot wait for you to come back. I listened to you fill-in for Rush, listened to your first broadcast here in Seattle, and will never stop listening. And, as a Christian, I am praying for you regularly.
    Looking forward to your return!!!

Michael, I can’t tell you how good it is to hear your voice! I’ve certainly missed it these last several months. Take care and get well soon!

  65. Nathan Bott  •  Apr 13, 2015 at 4:25 pm

Michael, it was a great pleasure to hear you and the progress you’ve made in your battle. You sound just fine – better than most radio hosts on their best days! Michael Medved is always in my prayers and I can’t wait to hear you when you get back. God bless you and your family!

  66. Jill Helms  •  Apr 13, 2015 at 6:52 pm

Very happy to hear you speak on air Michael. You sound amazingly good. Until you said “eating”, I thought your voice sounded ready for primetime.
I’m very excited that you will be returning to help us weed out and make sense of the 2016 run for president. This is an exciting time in more than one way.
Keep doing whatever you are doing. It won’t be long now!!

  67. Mark Dudgeon  •  Apr 13, 2015 at 9:24 pm

I appreciate the spoken & encouraging update. It is great to hear you after all this time, hoping & praying for the best news. I’m struck by the amazing medical advances that are possible, and how fortunate we are to live in this country at this time in history. From vision correction surgery to laparoscopic surgery to throat cancer treatment, to thousands of other advances, we just can’t appreciate it all enough, in my opinion. Looking forward to your return as I’m enjoying your very able guest hosts. Your wisdom and humor make you unique among your peers.

  68. Inna  •  Apr 14, 2015 at 9:55 am

I am glad you are feeling better. I wish you a speedy recovery. I miss you every day. It feels like eternity not hearing you on the Michael Medved show. I am not a republican or a democrat or a liberal or a conservative. I am just a human being who likes to listen to your opinions and regard you as an intellectual with the acumen and wisdom to show the true colors of any situation or position. You are just awesome. I pray for your speedy recovery.

  69. Toni  •  Apr 14, 2015 at 10:37 am

Thank you so much for the update. Your guest hosts have been great, but you are missed. May God bless you and bring you to a full recovery soon. We are looking forward to the day you return to your show.

  70. Petra  •  Apr 14, 2015 at 3:20 pm

Praying for your continued recovery! You sound a little different, but GREAT! We’ll get used to your new voice, I am sure ;). Sorry to hear you are still having trouble eating…that is a big bummer, but by God’s grace you will overcome that hurdle as well on your path to complete recovery. We miss you and look forward to your return on the air. All our best, Brett & Petra

  71. Gayle  •  Apr 14, 2015 at 6:24 pm

Michael, so glad to hear your wonderful voice again!! May God speed your recovery and bless you mightily!!

  72. Speechie  •  Apr 14, 2015 at 9:08 pm

Michael, I am a co-religionist and a fairly frequent listener who has been praying for you, and I just want to speak as a Speech-Language Pathologist (which is my profession) and make sure to recommend (if you aren’t already) that you work with a SLP who has experience in head and neck cancer and commit to a speech therapy regimen that is as thorough and intensive as you can manage. Best wishes for a refuah sheleimah!!

  73. JMR  •  Apr 14, 2015 at 11:09 pm

Glad to hear you’re doing so well! It’s been fun listening to your guest hosts, but as others have said, there’s only one Michael Medved. Best wishes for a full and quick recovery.

  74. Drew  •  Apr 15, 2015 at 12:23 am

Michael, we want to encourage you in your healing time. My husband was diagnosed with the same cancer and treatment 5 1/2 years ago and is doing awesome. My husband listens to your show and is looking forward to you returning. Our prayers are with you!

  77. Jacob  •  Apr 15, 2015 at 5:44 pm

    Thank God!
It’s been a long few months of wating and hoping for your return, your way of putting things in their right perspective, your moral clarity on so many topics, makes you a must for our ever darkining world, may the Lord of Abraham Issic and Jacob, bring you back to full health, so you may continue bringing light to Gods green earth.
    Best regards from Toronto Ontario

  78. Mark  •  Apr 15, 2015 at 6:37 pm

Great to hear your voice again. We need your voice in this country, but, even more, YOU need for your voice to be completely healed.

You’re a hard-charging, hard-working kinda guy, and I respect that. Just please don’t go TOO hard, TOO fast, and damage your voice, and have to be out again. Patience is a virtue; it works (cf. – what would your dear belated father have advised you?).

Praying for your continued healing and healthy return.

    Mark in Dallas, TX

I was born in Latvia in ’39 and wound up in a DP camp in Germany after the war . my father was killed on the Russian front ..My mother, brother and I immigrated to this wonderful country in 1951. WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.I have lived the American dream and want you to know how important you are in your balanced, patriotic support for this country and what it stands for . We all sooo need you back . Good people like you keep the dream going. God knows the obstacles are there ..GET WELL SOON…I KNOW YOU WILL .GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY….

  83. Suzanne Shook  •  Apr 17, 2015 at 4:33 pm

Dear Michael, God Bless you !!! It is soooo good to hear your voice. ! I am so happy you are improving each day and getting better. My day is not the same if I can’t hear your charming personality and great intellect on the radio each day. It is especially funny to hear of your stories about Bill and Hillary when you attended law school with them. Was she that big a WITCH back then or has that been part of her notorious character development over the years ? WOW !!!! I thought a little humor would be good for you !!! HA HA !Take good care and my husband and I will keep you in our prayers ๐Ÿ™‚ !!!!!

  84. Pete McQuade  •  Apr 17, 2015 at 5:40 pm

I’m praying for your full and speedy recovery, Michael. The world needs to once again hear your wonderful insights and perspectives. Your efforts to overcome your cancer and return to action set a great example–and are a gift to everyone facing difficulties. God bless you and your family.

  85. Maureen Bredemus  •  Apr 17, 2015 at 6:31 pm

Dear Michael, I am such a fan and miss you so much. I turn on the radio but just can’t hear anybody’s opinion except yours. I have never gone on your web site but there is always a first.
I am glad I went here and heard you speak and tell how you are doing. You sound great and it makes me happy for selfish reasons. But you are the best and the smartest. Love the way you interact with people. You always give them a chance to speak even if they are insulting or have nothing to add. You have an amazing amount of self control and I appreciate all of this. It shows such respect for others. And besides I agree with almost everything you say. It is so great to hear your voice. I am thrilled for you and your family. In reading all of the comments from your friends all around the country, I am pleasantly struck by all of the references to God. How refreshing and vital.
Keep up your strength and your good work and we will all hear you soon.
With love and prayers from Southern California,

    Joe Ehrbar

    Hello, Michael,
I am so glad that you are getting better.
Please don’t forget that it is not just your calling but also your duty to continue your show.
You have inspired so many of us that you cannot just let us down.
So take as much time as you need, but please come back to us and bring some reason in the ocean of madness we live in.

    Hello Michael,
It was such a thrill to hear your calming voice again, if only for a few minutes this afternoon as I was doing a little gardening. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and in my prayers. May our loving Father pour his grace on those entrusted with your health and may He grant you daily comfort, joy and peace in the knowledge that you are deeply blessed and loved by Him, by your family and dear friends and also profoundly appreciated by your grateful listeners the world over.
    Greetings and blessings from Quito.

Awesome! You sound great, Mr. Medved! This was SO encouraging to hear -ahead of recovery schedule!?! Wonderful! We your loyal listeners appreciate you giving an update and rejoice at your speedy return to radio! (I need to hear your comments on Hillary, Ha!) Much love to you and your family! God is SO good.

  95. M Lance  •  Apr 26, 2015 at 3:12 pm

We are rooting for you! I’ve prayed for healing! I’m so glad to hear you make your own update…very relieved.

Michael: I regretted very much when I could no longer listen to your program in the Tri-City area of Washington.State. Of all the ‘talk’ shows, I felt yours was unique and most informative. Life has since rushed on for my family but fortunately today I ran across a flyer promoting your American history tapes and after connecting again via google and subscribing to your e-mail newsletter, I learned of your bout with cancer. How very pleased I am to ‘hear’ that you are on the mend. . I am very glad that we have connected again and wish you the best and a complete recovery. P.S My wife and I enjoyed attending one of your talks in the Tri-Cities . Your books are keepers!

Just listened to your update on your recovery. Yes, your voice does sound different but who cares – you are back talking on your radio show and that makes me happy. I have missed you and your ideas, opinions and always valuable and truthful talks about what is going on in “this greatest nation on GOD’S green earth”. Please continue to get well. Our prayers are with you.

Sounds as if part of your tongue or throat was removed, or is that lack of control a byproduct of the treatment? Glad you are doing well and wish you a full and speedy recovery, and a long career on the radio.

  99. Jeff  •  May 6, 2015 at 5:01 pm

Michael: Overjoyed…your recovery is obviously well on its way. I am, like you, a cancer survivor. I had 1/2 of my oral tongue removed 3 1/2 years ago, and like you went through 33 rounds of radiation (the gift that keeps on giving). I am sure that your voice on the radio is a wonderful thing to your many fans but to me, an others like me, it is thrill to hear on the radio someone who sounds as I do. Your pronunciation of the word “eating” was perfect…try “butter”. We are a special sub-group, those of us who have reinvented our lives, and I for one am happy for you.

  100. Laura  •  May 9, 2015 at 4:14 pm

Thank you for the update, Mr. Medved! I thought you sounded great. We will take what you can give us. Your intelligent, calm perspective of the sometimes frightening world we lived in is truly missed. We will keep praying for you; for strength and grace in your recovery. Blessings to you and your family.

hello Michael, the respect and gratitude that I have for you can never be shadowed by the tone of your voice or the sound of your words being a little different. The eloquence and wisdom that you display during your show is much too blinding to even notice anything else.God bless you and may you have a speedy recovery so that we can enjoy your brilliance for many more years.

  102. Joe  •  May 27, 2015 at 9:04 pm

Michael, Great to hear your voice again and to hear news you are recovering, not unexpectectedly ahead of schedule. We all miss you and wish you and your family the very best. Our prayers are with you.

Michael, I am not a person who subscribes to your politics. I am, however, someone &'who thinks you are kind, thoughtful, and very logical. I am a very devoted democrat and Irish Catholic. I believe our backgrounds are not All that different.Having listened to you on the radio & having learned of your cancer battle I am here to tell you I will pray for you and really hard. I have some really wonderful Saints that I pray to and I definitely include you. Your a very special person because you are always kind , better yet, logical.I know you will get well, God needs your kindness here on earth.
