I searched for Mr. Medved’s review to learn what a right wing talk show host, who describes the homeless as: less than human, would say about this movie. I was not surprised by his review. As with any movie that attempts to show the best of what we are, Mr. Medved misses the point of the film.
I am not suggesting that this film, or any film, will be liked by all. Such a film has yet to be made. But Cloud Atlas, the book and the film, deliver a message of hope. A message that one would like to think, could reach even the most cynical among us. I guess this not the case with Mr. Medved.
Cloud Atlas is not a perfect movie. It is, however, a work of passion and pride. An ambitious attempt to reach up and part the clouds — to deliver a little bit of light to those of us willing to open our eyes.
I feel sorry for Mr. Medved who would prefer a movie like, The Impossible — a simplistic, obvious and uninspired movie one would expect to see on the Lifetime channel to Cloud Atlas.
I did not expect someone like Mr. Medved to like this movie. For to do so, he would need to understand the art of film making or, at the very least, have a soul.
Michael,
You never seem to review Quentin Tarantino Films……………Why is that ?
