Music evokes images in the mind of the listener. In the “Django” review, I think Michael’s voice is quite enough, and does not need the help of thumpety-thump music in the background, which only evokes in my mind the image of a seedy Harlem disco. Why not some music from the period of the film? The music is incongruous and annoying, and detracts from Michael’s excellent commentary. As in the ending of the movie “Proof of Life,” the music is totally unrelated to the topic and setting. I love Michael’s Klesmer music, but would it be appropriate as background for Downton Abby? The thump music gives me a headache; please drop it. Thanks
Won’t be seeing this one because of Jamie Fox’s racist remarks…
I am shocked that Medved gave Django 2.5 stars. I was shocked at how weak this movie is. The racist remarks took a back seat to acting and content and “flow”. Samuel L. Jackson’s vulgarity was almost word-for-word his lines in Pulp Fiction. Pathetic.
Even the blood splatter scenes didn’t look real. It looked a bullet shot into a bucket of red water. Remind me again what the plot was. Tarentino should be embarrassed.
Thought I heard Michael say he hated this movie today.
