Only 3 stars? OK, I’m a little biased (DLS graduate), but for the MM audience (or any audience) this movie brings all the good stuff. It’s about way more than sports, is so well done – and from a real story and lessons that continue as teachings today at DLS. The acting, editing, music, and story line are outstanding and the inspiring messages ring true, especially with what’s in the news right now. We need more like this. Compared to other movies you might go see, this one is worth more than the ticket price and time invested… and stay through the ending credits!

I’m no big football fan, but I can tell you that “When The Game Stands Tall” was a film that really delivers! Jim Caviezel and the rest of the cast were great. The story was so uplifting and the message of dedication to something bigger than just yourself was really inspiring! This movie is a winner all the way around.

I had looked forward to seeing this movie given the themes I heard about. And, to support a “good” movie. However, I thought Jim Caviezel performed poorly….the “talk” was good, but the acting was milk-toast-like (if there is such a word)…Disappointing.

I always look forward Mr. Medved’s comments. Thanks!

Great movie. My football loving husband and I saw this movie yesterday and we both loved it. I was afraid it was not going to be of interest to me, but I found I was really absorbed in this story. We thought the acting was very good, believable and inspiring. Great message for teens to inspire them to grow into maturity, respect for family, commitment and inspiration to give their best efforts. Some values that seem to be missing in many lives of children today.

Spectacular movie, easily the best football film I’ve seen. But, there is a warning I’d like to give, don’t look up to see what stuff was real and what wasn’t, if you do, I guarantee it’ll almost completely ruin the movie for you.

    4.5 stars out of 5
