I agree with Mr. Medved’s review, but I would have liked the movie anyway if the music had been better. That whiney slow tempo stuff was there in the 60’s, but there was a lot of fun, up tempo, melodic music too. For example, how about Freight Train instead of that mopey hootenanny favorites 100 Miles? It seemed like all the music was the sound track of Llewin’s personality. Maybe that was the point. The best song was during the end credits: The real Dave Van Ronk singing. Green Green Rocky Road.

I’m a huge fan of the Coen Brothers’ movies. This one was just over the top boring and not even worth the time watching. I kept waiting for it to turn, and it never did. Very very disappointing. Yes, they held true to coming up with some quirky characters. But it still couldn’t save this film. Better luck next time guys. I’m sticking with your films, but not this one.
