Leave a commentMichael, usually I agree with a lot of your reviews. However, on this one, I cannot disagree with you more. I think you may have fallen into the same trap a lot of other critics have fallen in to. Some movies are not meant to be “art” films or challenge the intellect. This film is the perfect example of a good ride. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it did what I expect a movie to do. Which is, to say, to take me out of my head and world and problems for an hour or so.
This was a case of a decent idea which couldn’t be turned into a good script. It started out well, but it’s like the writer has no idea what to do next. I’ve really enjoyed Luc Besson’s movies in the past, but this one fell flat.
I got real tired of her vacant look. I was glad it was only 90 minutes.
Can’t wait for the sequel!
