Michael, on your commentary on Les Miserables. I think that your point about “tomorrow” and the final scene with many of the deceased characters at the barracade may be off point. This screenplay was much more about “final” redemption rather than revolution. I contend that the people in the final scene were in heaven waiting for more to follow. As our Jewish and Christian traditions teach us you get to heaven for reasons that agree with God’s Law. Notice that the Russell Crowe character did not make it. He broke a big law and did not qualify. Meanwhile, the movie was by far the best of the 5 I have seen about this book mainly because it stuck so close to the musical version while including the important religious connection. The three leading men, Crowe, Jackman and the guy who player the normally weak Marious character were all brilliant. Much better movie than Lincoln, which was also good.

Michael, would it be possible for you to publish a written transcript of your review? I am hearing impaired and cannot easily understand your verbal review – only about 25% of it. Thanks.

I really liked this movie. The photography was excellent. It was the script. My disappointment was that I thought I was going to get something factual. They had a female hero who got her own C130 transport jet at the end, when the real hero was Shakiel Afredi who is still, as far as I know, in a Pakastani prison. I get so offended everytime I hear Obama take credit for the BinLaden death. And I reject the notion that the CIA only had a 65% certanity that BinLaden was in the compound. Thanks to Afredi they knew he was there.
