    Hi Michael.
I’m writing an article on Ehud Netzer and Herodium in light of the upcoming exhibit on King Herod at the Israel museum. While researching I came across your site. Turns out that I know John from when I worked at Accent Software in Jerusalem years ago. Now I guide. After Prof. Netzer passed away I offered a free tour of Herodium in his honor and memory. Unfortunately, I never met him, I had a few questions to ask him.
    Blessings from Jerusalem,

My Wife, Betty Ann Rockwell (originally Rukoski) is likewise a cousin of Dr Netzer. Her Grandfather immigrated from Lithuania at age 18, worked in coal mines, then changed his name to enable his getting a job as a railroad engineer in Chicago. He moved to Winchester, Tenn after retirement

His Son, my Father in Law, James M Rockwell, was the lead navigator of the 379 Bomber Group in the Eight Air Force during WW2. Rather than the standard 25 missions, he volunteered for 35. The 379th had the top score in the 8th AF for number of missions flown & accuracy of bombing

After the War, Jim married & earned an Engineering Degree from SMU, worked for GE in Turbine Sales for power generation etc, and was the oldest employee in GE when he retired at 72: He had a huge backlog of sales from customers that insisted upon working with him.

When my Wife discovered her Father’s Jewish identity via (his Grandfather converted to Catholicism after a prolonged treatment in a Catholic hospital for burns received when his locomotive derailed; her Father was an Episcopalian), she ultimately converted to Judaism. This has led to a fascinating study of her relatives, many of whom were distinguished rabbis or achievers such as Ehud Netzer. And yourself!

As a devoted Presbyterian, I enjoy the growing respective insights derived from our theological sparring.
